5 Ways to Support Your Favorite Bloggers

Support Bloggers
We all have blogs that we connect with for one reason or another.  Maybe we feel like we can relate to the blogger.  Maybe we can't get enough of their awesome tips or projects.  Maybe they just make us laugh.  Whatever the reason, I imagine it's because they add value to your life somehow: encouragement, information, entertainment...

Well, this post is for those of you who have ever wonder how you can show support for those blogs that you love so much.  After all, any blogger knows that without YOU we would all just be talking typing to ourselves... and that's no fun!

KEEP VISITING

Just by being a "frequent visitor" you are helping your favorite blogger.  It's true.  One reason is because we bloggers like to see those page view numbers go up.  Granted, I think most bloggers try not to focus solely on the numbers as it's enough to make even the most sane individual lose their ever-loving mind.  But, it is rather encouraging to see that people care enough to come back... Kind of like the feeling you got when that boy you went on a first date with last weekend calls you back for a second one.  Okay... not exactly like that... but you get what I mean.

COMMENTS

I would never want to make anyone feel guilty for NOT commenting, but we bloggers {heart} comments.  It's further proof that we're not talking to ourselves because the comment box is your half of this two-way conversation that is a blog.  But, if commenting just  isn't your thing, consider sending the blogger an encouraging email, Facebook message, or tweet.  Seriously, all it takes is a few minutes of typing to make a blogger's day!

You may think your "little ol'" paragraph of positive words doesn't mean much, but even bloggers who receive hundreds {if not thousands} of messages a day telling them how wonderful/talented/funny they are can attest to the fact that ALL of them mean so much.

SHARE

So, a particular post or thought caught your attention?  Share it!  Post the URL to Facebook.  Send out a quick Tweet to your friends.  Pin to your Pinterest page.  Click the little "g +1" logo at the end of the post.  By doing so, you will help the blogger to increase page views and, ultimately, gain them more readers {see "Keep Visiting" above}.  And for that, they {we} would be eternally grateful and would name one of their children after you.  Not really... well, we would be grateful, but you probably won't get a "junior" out of the deal.  Sorry...

FEATURE

Do you have a blog of your own?  If so, consider giving your favorite blogger a shout out, include a link to a favorite post in one of your posts, or allowing her to guest post. I'm not big on "karma" per say, but I do believe it is in any blogger's best interest to just be nice, support each other, and spread the love!  {NOTE: This is something I need to improve on.}

PURCHASE

I don't know about you, but when I make a purchase, I like to know where my money is going.  Even better: I like to know that my money is going to an individual/small business versus a large "faceless" corporation.

Having said that, most bloggers these days {even those who don't really view their blog as a job} are a part of several affiliate programs that earn them a small percentage of each sale.  If you planned on buying the product anyways, why not purchase through a blogger's affiliate links or ads?  After all, many of us are simply trying to be a {financial} help meet to our husbands while still pursuing our call to raise a family and manage the home.

To piggy back on that, if the blogger offers their own products or services, consider purchasing directly from them.  For example, if you're looking for some natural body care products, seek out a blogger who makes her own instead of hitting up the local big box store.

How do you support your favorites?
If your a blogger,
is there any other way I forgot to mention?

By the way, this {hopefully} could go without saying, but I'm going to say it anyways:

I never set out to write this post with the assumption that I was anyone's favorite blogger, so please don't feel pressured to do any of these things.  Instead, I wrote it knowing that I have some favorite blogs that I like to support in any way possible.  After all, each support network of readers and fellow bloggers that belongs to any particular blog contributes to the overall support system that is the blogging world, which is a beautiful web of ordinary people building each other up.  {Yes, there are some rotten apples out there, too, who are totally missing out on the blessing that is to be had through using words to edify instead of tear down.  Their loss...}

I'd like to take a moment now to give you a big, virtual, bear hug to say THANK YOU for supporting Domestic Bliss Diaries.  {Hopefully I didn't just invade your personal space... I am a hugger!}  You all have been faithful to return day after day, leaving regular comments and sharing/pinning your favorite posts.  This blog isn't "big" by most standards, but God has used you all to grow this humble little corner of the WWW.  And, for that, I am so grateful!
