Redeeming Mondays

Yes, friends, it's Monday, once again.  Look, I know Mondays don't have a good reputation and are usually far from being welcomed with open arms.  I get it.  We LOVE our weekends because they're filled with relaxation, family, friends, and fellowship {ideally}.  Yes, weekends are great, BUT I'd like to submit to you that Mondays have more potential than you think.

Think about it.  I mean, everyone likes to "start over" sometimes.  You know what I mean?  Totally blew your diet... start over.  Made a mistake at work... start over.  You and your hubby {or kids} had an argument heated discussion... start over.  Yes, sometimes we all just want to press a reset button and take another shot at our mess-up.

Thing is, in life there are no reset buttons.  BUT, there are Mondays!  Not following?  Okay, think about it this way: Sundays, at least in my house, are considered the last day of the week.  It's a day to rest from the previous week and prepare for the upcoming one {and, yes, most of our Sundays are spent with our friends at church... wouldn't have it any other way!}.  Yes, Sundays are wonderful.  But Mondays... Mondays are that new start we all want.

Totally blew your diet last week?  It's okay... It's Monday.  Try again.  Made a mistake at work last week? Leave it in the past... It's Monday.  New week... new chance to show the boss what you're made of!  You and your hubby/kids aren't seeing eye to eye?  Apologize, agree to diagree {as much as possible}, and move on... It's Monday!  Challenge yourself to love them better this week.  See?  Mondays aren't so bad.

Now, before you say anything, I'm not so naive as to think that things like consequences don't carry over.  They totally do!  So, please don't think I'm recommended that you run from them in the name of "starting over".  No.  In fact, if you're dealing with something like this, let Monday be the beginning of you putting on your game face/big girl panties and facing things head on.  Cause you and I both know you're gonna come out stronger on the other side, right?

My entire point is simply to try to make friends with Mondays.  Or, at least, treat Mondays as a respectable acquaintance.  Because, you never know, Monday could be the beginning of something great!

Now that I've made my case for Mondays, I'd like to start something new here at Domestic Bliss Diaries: "Monday Motivation".  I'm not promising that I'll stick with it... but I hope I do because I think it'll be something good for everyone.

Here's the plan:

Mondays - I'll post my to-do list for the work week.
Fridays - I'll "check in", showing you how much I did/didn't get accomplished.

I'll be including a "Need To Do" list and a "Want To Do" list.  AND, I want YOU to participate, too.  Share your "need to's" and "want to's" in the comments below.

Sound good?

Here we go...

{I should note that my Little Man is hanging out with my parents in Georgia all this week, so I have a LOT of time on my hands.  You'd think I'd just be relaxing, but who has time for that?  I usually take these times to play catch up on things I can't keep up with when he's here.}

Blessings,
