Whoo hoo! Friday is here once again! How was your week? Mine was pretty normal. Definitely had its roller coaster of emotions but, really, as a woman, what week doesn't?
Because this is a Friday Favorites post, I'd like to share my favorite part of the week with you:
The time was yesterday. Around 6:30 pm. My husband arrived home. Little Man and I went to greet him. I was told to let our son stay outside, but I needed to go back inside. Very unusual. But, not one to want to spoil a surprise, I did as I was told. I went to my computer to finish what I was working on.
My son walked in the room first. Handed me a cover and screen protectors for a Kindle Fire. This was sweet. Only one problem, though. I didn't own a Kindle Fire.
I gave my husband my famous "what-in-the-world?" face. He handed me a box. It was a Kindle Fire!!!
I asked, "How did you do this?" I assure you we don't have the money just sitting around to buy this stuff on a whim. At first he wouldn't tell me but when I guessed, he said "yes".
Ya'll, my wonderful husband sold his electric guitar to buy this gift for me! If you have any experience with boys/men at all, you probably know how hard it is for them to part with their toys. What you have to realize about what my husband did, though, is that he is the worship leader at our church. He didn't use the guitar too often, but would have been justified in keeping it. Instead, he selflessly sold it in order to buy me something that, in the grand scheme of things, is somewhat frivolous and completely unnecessary to life. But I am so grateful that, not only does he work so hard to meet our physical needs: food, shelter, clothing... but he also goes out of his was to make sure we have things we WANT too.
Here, let me introduce you:
I love you, honey!!
Alright, now it's time to get down to business! ;)
Here's what you may have missed this week...

FAVORITE UPCOMING SERIES
Does a simple, less-stressful summer sound wonderful to you? If so, you're gonna want to check out the Spring Into Summer Series at The Purposeful Mom! This series is all about planning for summer now so that you can enjoy it to the fullest.
FAVORITE NEW-TO-ME WEBSITE
Natalie, a.k.a. The Busy Budgeting Mama, has got some serious skills when it comes to creating something that is high-impact but on a budget! See for yourself...

She's the one responsible for this AWESOME castle, as seen on Pinterest. Cost? FOUR DOLLARS! For real!
This project, single-handily, has made me pray twice as hard for a girl. Please, dear Lord, give me a girl so I can build her this glorious castle! ;) I suppose I could craft this for my son and just call it a "fort"... right?

This next idea is one that I was drawn to partially because I have some serious baby fever {so ready to be preggers with #2} and partially because it's a super-duper organizing tip for the mom-to-be who already has a child {or more}. Put together a "kit" for whoever will be keeping your kiddo while you are busy delivering your most recent little blessing. If you plan on having more children, head over to The Busy Budgeting Mama to pin this one! Trust me, you'll thank Natalie and I later!
FAVORITE PIN OF THE WEEK:
{Via}
Those of you who are on Pinterest know how tough it is to try to narrow down a "favorite pin of the week". Normally I share more than one but, since this post was already getting rather lengthy, I thought I'd just share one pin {though I did pin the play castle and big sister survival kit above}.
I finally settled on the photo above as my favorite pin because {1} - it's just a pillow case and an embroidery hoop!! Genius! {2} - I've been looking for a cute way to corral laundry but didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for one. {3} - Even if, by some small chance, I can't find a pillowcase that I want to use, I could always buy fabric and make it myself.
If you leave the Pinterest URL in the comments, I'll be happy to stop by and take a peek.
Blessings,
