Have you ever had a week {or two or three}, where God was teaching you so many things that you literally felt mentally and emotionally exhausted from it all. That's how I've felt recently. Of course, I'm not complaining. I'm so grateful that God reveals Himself and His will to us. We don't have to guess what He wants. All we have to do is get in His word!
In addition to diving into the Bible for guidance, God has also blessed certain people with the gift of writing who have, in turn, used that gift to teach young women like me practical ways to live out our faith. Of course, if all I had was God's word, it would be sufficient. But I consider it a blessing that we have access to other books that can help us strengthen our walk with the Lord.
Here is a list of books I'm reading now...

It all started last week when I picked up the book Created to Be His Help Meet
{read my review of this book: HERE}, which is all about having a biblical marriage. I thought I knew what it meant to be a help meet to my husband, but this book taught me/reminded me of so many wonderful things {like, what I think about my husband, directly influences how I treat him}. I can honestly say that, through the grace of God, my marriage is better for having put into practice what I read.

Last night, I started reading the book The Ministry of Motherhood
, by Sally Clarkson. I am only three chapters into the book, but I can already tell that God is going to use it to change my heart concerning my son {and future children}. I never quite looked at motherhood as a ministry before, but it definitely is. It is a calling that many take on halfheartedly, without considering the eternal impact of how faithfully/unfaithfully we fulfill our responsibility.

Another book I want to mention is Educating the WholeHearted Child
{another Sally Clarkson book; this time written with her hubby, Clay}, which I ordered the other day. It should be arriving at my home today and I am very excited because I have heard nothing but good things about this one, especially from those who homeschool. Even if I were not planning on home-schooling, I would probably still read it. After all, even if we don't officially home-school our children, we're always informally schooling them at home - in other words, we all educate our children on some level.

Another thing I've been struggling with recently is lagging energy. Granted, this week hasn't been too bad, as I went walking with a friend earlier this week and have since dusted off my exercise videos. However, in the past, it took all I had NOT to nap with my son every. single. day. Can you relate? If so, click HERE to learn more about this book.
The "fine print": This post contains affiliate links. Should you decide to make a purchase after clicking through, I will receive a small percentage of your total. However, these books were either gifted to me by my wonderful mother - Christmas 2011 - or I've purchased them with my own money. Either way, I just wanted to tell you about them.
